NEW SYSTEM "RE4CTOR" BRINGS BOOKS TO LIFE ON MOBILE PHONES

London-based Apollo Media has joined forces with Europe's leading book manufacturer CPI Publishing Solutions (Bookbank) to bring books to life on mobile phones. 

This state of the art technology will have its debut at the London Book Fair.

Developed in Finland and already in use by major Scandinavian broadcasters and newspapers, Apollo's Re4ctor system allows publishers to provide full real-time, secure content delivery and interactivity to readers using their mobile phone handsets.  Apollo is now introducing the system to the publishing industry.

Unlike WAP, Re4ctor is a Java-based content management solution that can be adapted for use on any handset, and because it uses the phone's data port, its loading speed allows for comprehensive real-time interactivity at low user cost, providing a completely secure environment for publishers to deliver text, images, audio and video. 

It can also allow publishers the ability to build content-based mobile communities and generate new revenue streams from the one-to-one reader relationships this can provide.

Re4ctor can use most forms of digital content.  Usefully, it can take full advantage of the.epub file format to display book content.  And as Re4ctor provides its own protection of content, no further DRM is required to secure media delivered to the phones.
