Simon Waldman

Simon joined the Guardian as a journalist in 1996. He was the launch editor of Guardian Unlimited in January 1999, and became the company's first Director of Digital Publishing in 2001.

In 2006, he was appointed Director of Digital Strategy and Development at Guardian Media Group plc where he is responsible for creating and driving digital strategy across all the Group's divisions.

From September 2006 to February 2009, Simon was Chairman of the UK Association of Online Publishers (AOP), and he was appointed to the Board of Eniro, a Swedish directories business, in April 2008.

He is currently writing a book, Creative Disruption, to be released in 2010 by FT Prentice Hall, which explores the trials and tribulations of a range of businesses and sectors who have seen their world turned upside down by the arrival of all things digital.
